What's around and things to know
Casa Piedra Villa is located in La Marquesa Golf area of Rojales, with neighbouring small towns of Quesada and Benijofar. The nearest beach is in the coastal town of Guardamar Del Segura, just a 10-minute drive or a 30-minute bike ride away.
The Cities of Alicante, Elche, Oriheula and Murcia are within a 45-minute drive of the villa. There are lots of Spanish traditional rural villages / towns north of Elche e.g. Novelda, Aspe, and Sax to explore.
There are fantastic beaches and coastal resorts within a 30-minute drive including; Santa Pola/Playa Lisa, La Marina, Guardamar Del Segura, Torrevieja/La Mata, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Dehesa de Campoamor, Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horadada, all with varied coastlines/beaches and amenities. https://www.comunitatvalenciana.com/en/beaches

There is a coastal walk covering 16km from Playa Flamenca to Campoamor. The pathway is a mixture of paving stone, steps, coastal paths and promenades with plenty of stops along the coast.
Getting Around
Casa Piedra is located off a short steep hill and La Marquesa Golf and Rojales areas are flat. Please do bear this in mind when walking back to the villa in the summer.
It is a 15-minute walk to the closest supermarket, shopping market for any beach items, ATM, bars and restaurants of La Marquesa Golf. Rojales is a 25-minute walk and Benijofar is a 45-minute walk. Quesada needs to be reached by car due to hills.
Buses
There is a very limited bus service in Rojales. A car would be advisable and there are car rental agencies at Alicante airport and in Quesada and the local areas.
The nearest bus station is in Guardamar del Segura (free carpark opposite, just past the café ‘La Nube’ https://w3w.co/rental.biggest.wiping ) which links to the larger towns and cities.
Further information on buses can be found here:
https://www.rojales.es/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/horarios-correcto-scaled.jpg
Taxis
Pre-booked Taxis to and from the airport cost 50 euros (card or cash) through Quesada taxis It is recommended to book through Whatsapp on +34609251825 about a week in advance for airport taxis. Taxis from outside of the airport can cost between 55-65 euros depending on season and time of day.
When ordering a taxi, you need to call the local taxi agency of the area you are ordering one from, not the area you are travelling to (e.g. if you are taking a taxi from the villa to Guardamar, you would need to call Quesada taxis to take you to Guardamar. Then, you call Guardamar taxi to take you back to the villa). Drivers speak Spanish and English.
